    WILCO Speed Networking 2.0 at TopGolf


    Hi WILCO Chapter, it’s time for your Speed Networking 2.0 meeting!

    I know, we are in the event industry and aren't shy, right?  C'mon, you know at networking events we all tend to drift to those we have met before, and new folks find it hard to crack into the conversation.  The Speed Networking event will be our second of the year for the WILCO Chapter. It is designed to meet as many people as possible in a one hour period.  You get to do what all of us humans love to do and talk about yourself for a minute, and then you listen to what the other person has to say for a minute, and then we yell, "SWITCH"! This event is a GREAT opportunity to strengthen the working relationships you have with other members AND to form new ones!

    MAKE SURE YOU BRING BUSINESS CARDS because you will be handing them out to each person in front of you during the speed networking. There will NOT be time to have a long conversation with those you meet at this event so we urge you to follow up with those folks you are interested in getting to know better via email or phone call after the meeting. Schedule a time to get together and go into depth about each other's businesses and begin to develop that networking relationship. That's what it's all about, right?

    Because this is such a fun venue, we decided to make this a Happy Hour meeting! We will have appetizers during registration from 5:00-5:30pm and then we will do speed networking from 5:30-6:30pm. There will be a cash bar available for the duration of the meeting. The icing on the cake is that the venue has reserved four golf bays for us to hit some ball from 6:30-7:00pm. That’s a great opportunity to continue networking with someone you made a connection with during the speed portion.

    Mitch Taylor believes Success is in Serving, not Selling.  He works with Event Professionals who have the challenge of connecting with clients and closing sales.  He teaches ways to research prospects most effectively, what questions to ask before talking about anything, positioning yourself as an expert so your clients recognize you for it, and creating a new way to present your services at the close.

We will cover the research into what publications are looking for, vendor selection and performance, setting up for the right shots, marketing the first round, and marketing the same shoot, as well as publications, year over year.     The Roadshow Wedding was born of the idea that the world is a place of endless beauty and creativity to be explored. Two creative professionals, both respected authorities and educators in the wedding and special events industries, with an incurable case of wanderlust. 

    Using the canvas of a styled shoot to both create art and to teach the techniques and thought process behind it all, Syed Yaqeen and Tonia Adleta have taken to the road to collaborate with and teach fellow wedding and event professionals around the world. 

    Syed Yaqeen is an award-winning visual story-teller, educator and mentor. Based in New York City and traveling worldwide for both his art and his clients, Syed brings an eye for story - along with decades of experience to impart.     Tonia Adleta is the owner and Creative Director of Aribella Events, an award-winning wedding and event planning and floral design company based in Philadelphia. With her passport in one hand and coffee in the next, she sees beauty in the details and weaves those details together to tell a story. As an educator and mentor, she provides insight to the full spectrum of the creative process, from overall vision to detailed execution, as well as how to co-create and execute a vision in partnership. 

    Together Syed and Tonia's work has been featured in over 50 publications, both print and digital, including The New York Times, Martha Stewart Weddings, Grace Ormonde, Inside Weddings, Chicago Bride, Weddings Unveiled, Bridal Musings, Style Me Pretty, Ruffled, Carats and Cake, The Knot, Brides Magazine, Wedding Wire, Burnett's Board, and Munaluchi Bride, along with dozens of others.
