Speaker: Robert Lowman - Founder of Texas Wedding Guide and Bridal Extravaganza, Owner of Granberry Hills Event Facility
After working as a regional manager for a large nationwide jewelry chain, Bob Lowman began looking for a new career. In 1987 the San Antonio Wedding Guide, the city’s oldest locally based wedding publication, was begun. In 1989 the Austin Wedding Guide was added. In 1991 Lowman, realizing brides-to-be didn’t only want to read about products and services, but wanted to experience them first hand, began the Bridal Extravaganza, the area’s largest and finest wedding showcases. Granberry Hills Event Facility was added to the Texas Weddings family of companies in 2001 and has become one of San Antonio’s premiere wedding facilities. Celebrating 30 years in business in 2017, the Texas Wedding Guide was launched from the merger of the San Antonio and Austin magazines with a new size, but still featuring articles, checklists, photographs and advertising that helps thousands of couples every year plan the perfect wedding. Using a wide variety of marketing and sales tool, Lowman has grown Texas Weddings from a start-up operation in his living room to a corporation with revenues in excess of several million dollars a year.
